Working in Partnership

Willowbrook School and Nursery is a thriving learning community at the very heart of Beacon Heath on the outskirts of Exeter. We work closely with our parents and carers and our Beacon Learning Community partners to provide the best possible learning opportunities for our children.

An example of this close working is the toddler group that we run jointly with the Beacon Heath Children's Centre. This takes place on Friday mornings from 9:30am in our school Community Room.

The school is supported in its work by our school nurse Gillian Rayner and our Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) Richard Shelton and Paul Goodyear, who can be seen regularly in school working with us; leading assemblies, talking to the children about healthy living and providing information about staying safe.

Other partnership work is done with our local Secondary Schools: St James, St Luke’s, and St Peter’s. They support us well, hosting sporting events, providing sports’ leaders and working closely around transition time so that all our children have a good start to secondary education.

We also work with trainee teachers from the University of Exeter and Devon Primary SCITT, providing them with experiences that help them to develop into successful professionals.
